In a historic and proud moment for our community, the Greek Jewish Community of New York, led by Kehila Kedosha Janina, marched for the first time ever in the Greek Independence Day Parade on Fifth Avenue.
As we celebrate the 205th anniversary of Greek independence, our participation highlights the rich and enduring legacy of Greek Jewry and our deep connection to both Greek and Jewish heritage. Marching alongside fellow Greek Americans, we proudly showcased the unique history, traditions, and contributions of the Greek Jewish community.
This milestone marks an important moment of visibility, unity, and pride. We are honored to celebrate Greece's independence while sharing the story of Greek Jewish life and preserving the heritage of our Jewish ancestors from places like Ioannina, Salonika, Larissa, Athens, and beyond.
